First Baby of the year: Ambode’s wife insists on exclusive breastfeeding

Wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bo­lanle Ambode has urged nursing moth­ers to observe all the baby-raising tips taught at ante-natal and im­portantly, to embrace exclusive breast-feeding.

She reiterated that this would not only make the baby healthy and strong, but also help reduce unneces­sary spending on health issues.
Mrs. Ambode said this at her maid­en 2016 First Baby of the year cer­emony where baby Ubani who was delivered at General Hospital, Epe at 12.01 yesterday emerged as the First Baby of the year in Lagos.
Announcing Mrs. Amarachi Uba­ni’s baby as the First Baby of the year in the state, the Commissioner for Health in Lagos, Jide Idris said the winning baby; a girl who weighed 3.25kg was delivered at 12.01a.m through caesarian session.
