INEC to deploy 36,335 staff for FCT, Rivers’ elections
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will deploy a total of 36, 335 permanent and ad-hoc staff for the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory Chairmanship and Area Council Elections, and the Rivers state re-run elections, both scheduled for Saturday 19thMarch, 2016.
For the FCT Chairmanship and Area Council elections, the Commission will deploy
9,933 staff, while for the Rivers state re-run elections, INEC, will deploy a
total of 26,402 staff.
The FCT Area Council, with a total of 1,020,799 registered voters in six (6) Area Councils will be manned by: 6,624 Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, III); 9,375 Presiding Officers; 62 Supervising Presiding Officers, SPOs; 62 Collation Officers, CO; and 6 Returning Officers, RO, with 428 Reserves.
