Ado Ekiti monarch honours Fayose, Dankwambo, Adebutu

… “I will give Ekiti performing governor in 2018,” Fayose assures
Governor of Ekiti
State, Ayodele Fayose, and his Gombe State counterpart, Ibrahim Dankwambo and
member, House of Representatives from Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, on
Friday, received prestigious chieftaincy titles from the Ewi of Ado, Oba
Aladejugbe Aladesanmi II for meritorious service to humanity.
Fayose was garlanded
with the Apesin of Ado-Ekiti, which means the noble one people draw meaningful
existence from.
He was the first
Ekiti governor to receive such traditional honour which is usually given
in recognition of good contribution to the growth and development of the
people.
Governor Dankwambo
was honoured with the Akinwumagun of Ado-Ekiti, a title that celebrates good
character and friendship ties he has with Fayose and the people of Ekiti, while
Hon. Adebutu received the title of Akinrosola of Ado-Ekiti, that recognises his
wealth and affluence and how he used it to impact the governor and people of
the town.
The trio were so
honoured as part of this year’s celebration of the annual Udiroko festival, a
traditional ceremony to promote the rich culture of Ekitiland and in
remembrance of its glorious history.
Also honoured was the
wife of Gombe governor, Hajia Ummi Adama Dankwambo, who was conferred with the
title of Yeye Akinmuagun of the kingdom.Fayose and the Gombe governor had
commissioned the new hall built within the Ewi’s palace by the state government
to honour Oba Adejugbe and Ado-Ekiti people.
