Bayelsa rescheduled primary fails to hold



YENAGOA—THERE was confusion in Yenagoa, yesterday, as the rescheduled primaries by All Progressives Congress, APC, to pick a governorship candidate, for the December 5, governorship election did not hold.
As early as 8am, the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Yenagoa, the announced venue, had been occupied by Igbo residents in Bayelsa State, who were celebrating the annual Igbo National Day, while there was no sign of APC officials.
However, there was heavy security presence at the Complex mounted by a combined team of soldiers, mobile policemen and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
An anti-bomb police vehicle was also stationed at the complex.
