Stoke City will be looking for a date at Wembley in their League Cup quarter-final clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Britannia Stadium on Tuesday.
The Potters will want to tighten their back-line ahead of the clash after losing 2-0 to Sunderland at the weekend. Prior to that defeat they had not conceded in their previous three, winning two of those off the momentum from their penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea in the previous round.
Meanwhile, in the Championship, the Owls have been struggling for wins in recent weeks, with only one victory in their last four matches. That includes a 3-1 loss to Charlton which was the only defeat in their last 14 games in all competitions. Their most recent run-out came against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, when they were held to a 2-2 draw.
In injury news, Stoke are still without veteran Irish goalkeeper Shay Given, who is out long-term with a serious knee injury, while Spanish defender Marc Muniesa is a slight doubt with a hamstring injury.
Sheffield manager Carlos Carvalhal has revealed that Michael Turner, Vincent Sasso, Barry Bannan, Marco Matias, Fernando Forestieri, and Keiren Westwood will not be part of the matchday squad.
