Fulani Communities Cry Out Over Incessant Kidnapping


Fulani Communities in the Kwara South have cried out over to Federal, State governments and law enforcement
agencies to save them from hands of kidnappers who had been terrorizing and kidnapping their members recently.
The Fulani people resident in Ekiti, Oke Ero, Irepodun and Isin local Government Areas in Kwara made the appeal
in Ilorin while narrating their ordeals in the hands of kidnappers to newsmen.
Spokesman of the communities, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim said about six of their members have so far been kidnapped at Oko, Omu Aran, Osi, Obbo Aiyegunle, Obbo-Ile, Ekan Meje and Otun in Ekiti State.
Ibrahim added that victims have been forced to pay ransoms ranging from N300, 000 to over a N1 million before
they could secure their release  after some days in captivity.
He said the kidnappers have also been stealing cattle of the Fulanis in the areas and collecting proceeds of their cattle
sales after the cattle market days.
