Super Falcons vs referee Kateryna Monzul from Ukraine




               
The last group match between Nigeria and USA was not really a Nigeria / USA affair. It was actually a Nigeria / referee Kateryna Monzul from Ukraine affair.
Though Falcon played below expectation and could not have won with the performance; yet, the referee was not fair in her officiating.
I would put the  blame for the loss on the  Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon.
 The playing pattern of the team compared to their opponents in both the USA and Australia matches shows that the Falcon lack depth.
It is irresponsible on the part of the Falcon coach to deny responsibility for the loss. His refusal to shake the USA coach is even unprofessional on his part.
He need to return to the drawing board and work on the team especially the attack  provided he is not replaced.
Kudos however must be given to our goalkeeper 'Precious Dede' who we can actually call the star of the match.
Furthermore, I feel the Ukrainian referee need to be sanctioned for her partial and biased officiating which clearly helped in demoralizing the Nigerian players.
