Yobe: ‘Alleged drowning of 150 civilians can’t be substantiated’ – Army

The Nigerian Army has said it cannot confirm reports that about 150 people in Kukuwa-Gari, Gujba LGA of Yobe State, were either drowned or killed by Boko Haram last Thursday.
A late night statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, reads: “Following reports and distressed calls about suspected movements and planned attack by Boko Haram terrorists around Damasak general area, the Nigerian Air Force conducted air surveillance and armed reccoinaissance, while the Nigerian Army troops have been reinforced.
