Imo Dep Gov donates computers to NUJ
Imo State
Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has donated sets of computers to the
Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State Council, in
fulfillment of his earlier promise to the group.
Presenting the items yesterday, the deputy governor represented by his Special
Assistant on Media, Mr. Uche Onwuchekwa, said he donated the items in
appreciation of the role of the media in nation building and the development of
the state.
He charged them to ensure that their reports on issues concerning the government and people of the state are factual and not based on speculation and mischief.
He added that the donation was to assist the correspondents improve on the quality of their duties, pointing out that his office has always contributed and identified with journalists in whatever way he can to enhance their job and cushion the challenges they face every day.
Madumere encouraged members of the chapel to be exemplary in the practice of journalism and charged the leadership to ensure that its members uphold the ethics of the profession.
