LAMIDO, SONS GRANTED BAIL ON PERSONAL RECOGNITION
A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday granted bail to former Governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido who is standing trial with his two sons on allegations of laundering N1.35 billion.
The former governor was granted bail on personal
recognition.
The trial judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole also
admitted Lamido's two sons; Aminu and Mustapha well as one Wada Abubakar to
bail in the sum of N25 million each with two sureties in like sum.
They were charged by the EFCC on a 28-count
charge which bordered on alleged laundering over N1.35 billion.
It would be recalled that Justice Evelyn Anyadike
of the Federal High Court, sitting in Kano had on July 9th ordered that Lamido
and the three other accused persons be remanded in prison custody in Kano till
September 28.
After their arraignment, Justice Anyadike ordered
that the four accused persons be remanded in a Kano prison because the EFCC
said there was no space at their detention facilities in Kano and Abuja.
