Step up effort in ending the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state- Group called on President Buhari

A youth organisation, Concerned Taraba Tiv Youth Frontier today called on President Muhammadu Buhari to step up efforts in putting an end to the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state.
The leader of the group, Mr Goodman Danhida, made the call in Jalingo in an interview with NAN.
He spoke against the backdrop of the recent outbreak of hostilities between Fulani herdsmen and Tiv farmers in Gassol Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, no fewer than six Tiv people were killed in the crises by armed herdsmen and over twenty others injured.
Danhida said farmers had fled the area following the attack while the herdsmen were left with their cattle destroying their crops.
“The few people that remained in the area cannot go to their farms for fear of being attacked.
“President Buhari should intervene to put an end to the attacks once and for all.
“Attention should not be focused on Boko Haram alone, Nigerians are dying here too on daily basis and they need government assistance,” he said.
Danhida appealed to the warring communities to sheath their swords and allow the newly elected state governor to settle down and face the task of governance.
The youth leader advised the Federal Government to create jobs for youths in the state by establishing cattle ranches.
