One hacked down, properties destroyed by cultists in Ovwian community, Delta State.



A middle-aged man, identified as Mr Erhuvwun Kebe, was, Wednesday night, hacked down by members of a cult in Ovwian community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The violence, it was gathered  led to the destruction of three cars and the community town hall, as people scampered for safety.
 The Dominion group as led by one Mr Righteous Sabuke were said to have launched the first attack on the leader of Baga cult group, identified as Whayenkufia Kebe.
The Baga leader, Kebe, it was gathered, was not at home when the Dominion group paid him a visit to attack him.
 But they met his younger brother, Erhuvwun Kebe on the way while returning from the visit at NBTC Junction in Ovwian and macheted him to death.
It was gathered that when Whayenkufia Kebe, the elder brother of the deceased learnt of the killing of his brother, he, his cult and family members went to vandalise Onvwian town hall and three cars on sight as well as made away with some valuables.
They accused members of the community vigilance group, who usually  make use of the hall as their secretariat, it was gathered, looked the other way when the Dominion cult group snuffed life out of his brother.  
 However, three boys had been arrested in connection with the Wednesday cult clash in the community.
President General, Mr Paul Odiete, and Oghwuvwie General, Mr Alfred Urhukpe, both  of Ovwian community, said in a statement that after the violence, the arrested 13 boys were handed over to the police at Ovwian Police station.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
