Nigeria began their 2016 African Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda on a brilliant note by defeating Niger Republic 4-1 in Kigali on Monday evening.
It followed a frustrating goalless first half. Second-half substitute Chisom Chikatara smashed home a hat-trick for Nigeria to dump Niger and go top of Group C in the 2016 CHAN.
Osas Okoro opened the floodgate with a beautiful finish after great work from Adeniji one minute after the break. Chikatara added the second in the 73rd minute and got his brace with a tap in, ten minutes to full time barely a minute after the Nigeriens had pulled back a goal.
