Gunmen kidnap 2 doctors in Rivers

Unknown gunmen have abducted two medical doctors in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
A statement from the state Ministry of Health made available to newsmen confirmed that they were abducted within 48 hours.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that one of the victims, Dr. Isaac Opurum, who is the director in charge of Community Health in the state, was kidnapped around 3am yesterday while Dr Ibifubara Aprioku, a female staff of the state-owned Braithwaite Specialist Memorial Hospital, BMSH, was kidnapped on Sunday while on her way from church service.
It was also gathered that the gunmen who seized her while attempting to run away laid siege around the church while her children were said to have been abandoned in the vehicle.
The PRO of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association in Rivers, Dr Amadi Dan-Jumbo in condemning the abduction of Aprioku demanded the immediate and unconditional release of their colleague.
