Ikpeazu Flags Off Rehabilitation Of Additional Four Roads In Aba


Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, yesterday flagged-off the rehabilitation of the ring road linking four additional roads in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.

The affected roads  include the Ohazu, Ozuomba and Ibere roads linking Port Harcourt road as well as the Umuola-Umuokahia road in Obingwa  local government area. These bring  to 29, the total number of roads currently being undertaken by the present administration in Aba in the last seven months. The roads would reconstructed with the use of the rigid cement pavement technology.

Flagging off the four roads, Ikpeazu said that he was touched by the plight of residents of the area, describing the roads as strategic in the economic development of Aba.”It is unfortunate that these people still wade through flood even in dry season,” he lamented.

St. Finbaar’s College, Akoka wins the annual Helmbridge Science Challenge for secondary schools in Lagos State.

St. Finbarr’s College Akoka, Lagos at the weekend won the annual Helmbridge Science Challenge for secondary schools in Lagos State. The school in a six-week-long competition defeated May Day College and Topgrade Secondary School, Surulere in the preliminaries to qualify for the final. The Akoka boys who walked-over Penny International College Coker, the defending champions, for late coming, went into sporadic jubilation on their victory. The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that 16 schools participated in the competition, including Yaba College of Technology Secondary School, St. Finbaar’s College, Penny Internatinal College, Shining Lord’s Secondary and Technical School.
