Kidnappers place N50m ransom on kidnapped RCCG pastor
Kidnappers of Pastor Ayo Raphael, who was
whisked away during church service on Sunday at Kabba Junction in a suburb of
Lokoja have demanded a ransom of N50 million from the church.
According to a colleague of the abducted pastor of Resurrection Parish, Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Kabba Junction, who preferred anonymity, the kidnappers named their ransom through a phone call on Tuesday in Lokoja.
The pastor who was one of the eye-witnesses to the kidnap in the church said the gunmen numbering about 10 invaded the church about 9:30 am while the Pastor (Ayo Funsho Raphael) was delivering his sermon and started shooting sporadically.
“They ordered everybody in the church to face down and proceeded to the pulpit from where the pastor was preaching, got hold of him and dragged him out bare footed into the bush,” he said.
