I paid N1.3m for my wife’s release – Ogude

Super Eagles and Amkar Perm midfielder Fegor Ogude has disclosed that he beat down the price asked by abductors and paid only 1.3 million naira as ransom for the release of his wife from kidnappers.
Memunat Ogude, wife of the Nigeria midfielder, was abducted on January 4 from her residence in Warri.
“Well, I paid nothing much for her release. I paid 1.3m naira though they demanded 30m naira,” Ogude was quoted by TheCable.
The delighted player disclosed that his wife was unhurt while in the kidnappers’ den but will undergo medical examinations.
“Yes, she is alright but I have to ensure that she is. I have taken her to the hospital for proper medical tests and checkup because the kind of ordeal she must have gone through in the hands of the armed men is nothing to be taken for granted. I have to be sure that she is very okay.
