Fine: FG Rejects MTN’s Out Of Court Settlement

Minister of Communications, Abdurraheem Adebayo Shittu on Tuesday announced that Nigeria loses revenue worth over $287million yearly to software piracy.

Other major areas of focus within the stated time-frame, according to him, include policy of innovative continuity for private sector led continuous innovation and migration to a digitally-native Nigeria through capacity, job and wealth creation.
According to him, “The philosophy of the new thinking is aptly captioned, “Continuing Innovation and Innovating Continuity: Creating a SMART Digital Nigeria.”  “This conceptual double helix is what we sincerely believe to be the cultural DNA we need to embed to create a “SMART Digital Nigeria” to bring about the Change we seek.
He also noted that the proposed roadmap if well implemented would create about two million jobs as well as reduce the cost of governance while making revenue generation easier.
